I just wanted to congratulate everyone who fought in the battle against the legalization of same sex marriage. It looks like in Arizona, Florida, and California, it was overturned and the traditional view of marriage is still intact. This is amazing and it shows what can happen when people rally together and take a stand for what is right. This has been the hottest topic next to the actual election and it has definitely brought a lot of controversy. I know that I, personally, was in the cross-fires and many of my friends, as well. I am ELATED that we did it! Here is the Church’s official newroom report that came out November 5th.
For those of our readers who do not understand the LDS Church’s view of same gender attraction, this is a great article by one of our apostles, Elder Dallin H. Oaks, that explains it well. I would recommend even our LDS friends to read the article so they can be adequately prepared to answer when asked about the LDS church’s view of homosexuality– I know I was asked ALOT during the past few months and this article really helped me to answer those questions.

HOORAY!!!!! This was the most intense election EVER. I am so happy with the outcome of the issue. What a battle!
I totally agree. This election was PSYCHO and people’s true color’s really showed. It is such an incredible blessing that the traditional view of marriage remains intact. For how long, though? There are already lawsuits being brough against California for those who were married back in June and now are unsure of their legal standing. This is a win for now, but we can’t let our guard down– we must continue the fight because it is far from over
And that picture of you two is awesome!
HOORAY!
All I can say in regards to this post is that I love the picture of you and Trevor. Love ya!
That picture was used on our very first blog post three years ago!
I am amazed that it passed. Hooray!
I’d never read the interview with Elder Oaks before. It is very, very good and thorough. Thanks for sharing that. It’s something I will refer to often.
LOVE YOU!
You go girl. I always knew you were an activist at heart.
