The most amazing thing happened today! My mom, Gabe, Boe, Jace, and I were out Christmas shopping today. Jace and I were shopping and they were all off somewhere else. All of a sudden this guy about my age comes up to me and hands me an envelope and says,”Hi! This is for you! Merry Christmas!” and I was like, “Oh! Thanks! What is it?” And he says, “A Christmas present! Merry Christmas!” and he walked off. I opened it up and it had a beautiful poem by Mother Teresa in it, and a $100 bill! NO JOKE!!!! Isn’t that PHENOMENAL?!? That is like the coolest Christmas surprise EVER!!! Let me tell ya, I am ONE happy girl! It was awesome!

Well, it’s official! We have moved out of Wymount and it is sooooo sad! We LOVED where we lived, and all of the people in our ward. So sad. My family came up this morning and packed us all up, cleaned the apartment, and moved it all into a storage shed until we move into our new apartment on Jan 5th. Thank you SOOOOOOO much, family! You are AMAZING! Especially Gabe, my 13 year old brother. That kid has the strength of an ox. He did 75% of the work. Gabe is a STUD! And my dad, also, after driving 2 days straight from Ohio. Is my family amazing or what? I don’t know how I would have done it without you, family! Thanks!
Our new apartment won’t be ready until Jan. 5th, so that was perfect since we were planning on being with family for the holidays until Trevor flew back to Ukraine on Jan 6th. So it is so perfect! Trevor comes home in 5 days! We can hardly wait! And I know HE was happy he wasn’t here to help move. He would rather be flogged than pack (although I think if it really came down to it, he would choose the latter). That’s it for now! We’re in St. George and Vegas for the next 3 weeks– Jace and I are so happy to be with family!
I just blogged like 10 minutes ago, but this is so cool, I just had to share. If you haven’t heard already, this year, if you give a day of service to a charitable organization, Disneyland will give you a free ticket to Disneyland! So it is a win-win situation! Go here for more info. You can’t start signing up until January 1st, but it sounds awesome. We are totally doing it!
First item of business:
My Grandma and Grandpa Suttner send Jace a gingerbread house kit each year– it came today! They are so thoughful! Jace was sooo excited. As soon as we took it out, he exclaimed, “The witch has a gingerbread house, too! Jace and the Witch, same, same!” He was sooooo elated (the witch from Hansel and Gretal)! Thanks so much Grandma and Grandpa! You guys are so thoughtful! We really appreciate you! (I took 6 pics of Jace holding the house but he was watching “Go, Diego, Go” and wouldn’t look at the camera in any of them. A true fan.)
Second item of business:
I am not much of a nail person. I rarely paint my nails because they seem to chip the very next day and it is so tedious to take it all off when I just put it on. Such a hassle, especially with all the chipping I get. However, I love red nails during December, so I went to find a cool shade. I found this shade called “Blood Red” by Rimmel– it was their Lycra 10 Day polish. They say that without a bottom coat or a top coat it will last for 10 days with no chipping! I decided to try it out, and boy was I pleased! This is a pic of my nails after 6 days! And it is just barely wearing away from the edges! For $2.50, that is ONE awesome bottle of nail polish! And I totally look like a vampire with my winter albino skin and blood red nails. Dramatic!
Third item of business: TREVOR BOARDS THE PLANE IN 1 WEEK! It is a two day flight, so he will get here in 8 days, but 1 week sounds SOOOOOO much closer. 1 WEEK! HOORAY!
We went to see Santa over the Thanksgiving break in Las Vegas. I just got the pics off the camera.
Spirits were high when we got to the mall. Jace knew he was going to meet Santa and get all his Christmas wishes a rollin’.
We paitently waited in line until Santa came back from “feeding the reindeer” (I think he was using the restroom).
He returns and Jace spots him from a distance.
And starts kicking and screaming frantically to regain that distance.
He is finally convinced to brave the scary lap of santa, but only if accompanied by a 12 year old Azure.
Then decides to risk it alone. But never cracks a smile. His senses are accute.
He accompanies baby Gage to protect him from the scary Mr. Clause. Neither let down their guard.
Santa makes one last bleak attempt to win over the child’s heart with an offering of reindeer antlers and lollipops.
The candy is carefully scrutinized and pronounced safe.
Jace announces, “Him’s nice. Him’s not a scary. Him gives me horns and suckers.”
The first cognizant Santa meeting: a success!
