OK. This is only something you hear about in movies. Which is why I have to share it here. Trevor and I leave for Thailand out of LAX on Wednesday. He was talking to his friend/business associate today and was telling him about it, and this friend was like, “Well, hey! I am flying to California in a few hours on my private jet! Do you just want to ride with me?” And Trevor (obviously) was stunned, and this friend was like, “Oh! It’s nothing– it’s just a 7000 (I don’t remember what the heck he said), you know, the kind Angelina Jolie flies around in.” WHAT?! Isn’t that AWESOME!? So Trevor is flying with his buddy on a private jet to LA- he is going to do some business down there with his buddy and then I will drive down and meet them there on Wednesday. IS THAT COOL OR WHAT?!!? Yep, just had to post it! Never thought that would happen in a ZILLION years!

I told my friends Amberlee, Ashley, and Amy that I would e-mail this pic to them. But then realized I don’t have their e-mails (except for Ashley). So I am going to post the pic here, and for all other interested parties who haven’t seen it yet! IT IS SO EXCITING! I wish I had a high quality image of it, but if you go to the artist’s (Lonni Clarke) website, you can see a closeup and a video of the progress. Here is the link. In true life it is five feet tall– it’s HUGE! SO EXCITING! It comes out in the Ensign in two months!
It is depicting Mary the night of Christ’s birth– she has just seen the new star appear in the heavens. And yes, I did pose with a real donkey! He was pretty wild… let me tell ya! He looks all sweet and gentle here, but that donkey was crazy!
As we were walking to church today we saw the leaves changing color all over the mountains. As soon as church was over we jumped in the car and drove up Sundance Canyon to see it in all its splendor. Oh my goodness, it was breathtaking. The vibrant reds, oranges, yellows, and greens were just magnificent! We were going to take pictures of Jace, but by the time we got out of the car, his big, warm, puffy, jacket had put him straight to sleep! So Trevor took some pics of me and then Jace woke up for a few but then we ran out of camera space. I know you all only want to see pics of Jace, but the colors in these pics are just too amazing not to post! It was BEAUTIFUL!
Today Trevor had a big meeting in Sandy so we all got up early and I dropped him off, then Jace and I shopped ’till we dropped at Ross and IKEA. Ross, IKEA, and Forever 21 are my three favorite stores in the universe. So it was quite fun.
I got Jace a bunch of cool stuff for his b-day but you will all just have to wait for three weeks to see what he got!
He LOVES IKEA almost as much as me and would not leave the train set thing for over half an hour. It got quite boring. But then Trevor met me at IKEA and we went up to Temple Square so I could go to the General Relief Society Meeting LIVE (did you see me on TV?!) and Jace and Trevor just played on the grass while I was in there.
Here is a really cool thing that happened. I didn’t think we needed tickets since I knew the conference center wouldn’t be full, so I didn’t even worry about it. Well, we soon found out you DO need tickets. So we crossed the street to the Conference Center to find out where the standby line was.
They informed us it was on the side of the road we had just come from. So we went back to cross again but it was a red light so we waited.
(Sidenote–I love this pic because Jace is sooooo excited about his flower! haha) Well, this grandma, mom, and little baby came and stood behind us and were debating what they should do with their tickets, “Should we just give them to someone?”
The daughter asked. I immediatly whipped around and told them I needed tickets, if they were going to give theirs away. Turns out they couldn’t go in because they had a baby and they were banished to the “Cry Room”. Oh I have been there MANY a conference.
Anyway, they were super sweet and gave me their tickets so I got in! But I didn’t just get ANY seat– I was front and center on the floor!
I was in the sister missionary section! It was like RockStar seating! What a huge blessing! All the messages were soooo awesome, and being there surrounded by all the sister missionaries just made it all the more amazing.
We got to the temple with about an hour to spare, so we took some pics before I went in. They turned out really cute– Jace is such a little sweetheart!
After that we went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. We always stop by when we are in SL but they are NEVER home! They are ALWAYS out galavanting, traveling the world. For instance, we stopped by last week and then found out they were on a cruise in Alaska! They seriously are the biggest party animals ever– Trevor and I are totally going to aspire to that when we are in our 60’s and 70’s! We had a great time catching up! Grandpa is an expert woodworker and made Jace this gun! Can you believe it? And it shoots rubber bands– the mechanics of it are ingenious and he made it up. Jace LOVES it.
Almost as much as he loves his great grandparents!
Grandma always entertains us on her organ! She has joined a musical club that travels around and plays in senior centers– isn’t that great? It is always so much fun to listen to her new pieces!
We had a great time! Thanks for letting us come by, Grandma and Grandpa! And thanks for all the cookies!
Also, on Friday I took Jace to the Museum Of People’s and Cultures– it is the Anthropology/Archaeology museum here in Provo. I used to always go (since my major is Socio Cultural Anthropolgy) but I hadn’t been since we got back from Florida. I am going to start taking Jace to the story hour on Friday mornings– they read stories from various cultures and do a cultural craft. It was alot of fun and Jace LOVED the museum! They currently have a Kachina exhibit and Jace just ran from Kachina to Kachina marveling at them. He’s got my blood! I am glad he is old enough to appreciate these things now. Fun weekend!
I was just surfing around and I came across THIS article! It tells all the best free birthday stuff that various places do to help you celebrate! THIS IS SO COOL! It is such a bummer that I will be in Thailand for my birthday! Can you imagine if you just spent the whole day redeeming all this stuff? That would be a birthday from heaven for me!

- Freebies From Toys”R”Us If you’re not a mom, pass this on to one—because it’s going to win her some points! While the monetary value of this freebie is low, the wow factor’s pretty big. Sign up for the birthday club at Toys”R”Us and your kids will not only get a card in the mail from the store’s beloved mascot Geoffrey the Giraffe, but also a phone call from him! The online registration lets you enter birthdates for multiple children and choose the time of day you would like to receive the phone call. The club is open to parents with children aged one through ten; make sure to enroll at least six to eight weeks before your kids’ next birthday to be sure your card and call will be on time. Also on the site is a free birthday countdown for members, which your guys can check every day (and, conveniently for Toys”R”Us, they can also check out the toys they’ll be asking for). Join!
