A Kiss for Caci

I put some strings back on my guitar. It’s been since Santa Clarita in Cali since I last played it - over two years. I let my fingers loose, and, remarkably, remembered a song I had written for Caci years ago.

When we dated I would look at her when we kissed. She would sneak peaks to see if I was looking. I always was… she’d pull back and ask why. I answered in song.

I don’t profess to be a rockstar, just a dude in love. Go easy with the comments.

Going Raw

Trevor and I are making the transition to raw.  I got a bunch of different sproutable things today and we are going to see which ones we like the best.  We have already been sprouting tons of red wheat for wheatgrass juice, and I did mung beans a couple days ago and we LOVE those.

We are sprouting the stuff below and we also are doing green peas, red wheat, and barley but they didn’t fit in the picture.  We can’t wait to see which are our favorites!  Eating raw is actually pretty fun!

Trevor’s Edit:

When I was on my mission I ate with the seasons - what grew when is what I ate at that time. I was full of life and vitality. I had, some would say, too much energy. So, we’re going back.

Brigham Young said that the day we live to the age of a tree will be the day we eat fruit and vegetables from the earth.

Now, all things in moderations… so, I will have my steak here and there.

Watching Jace

I’m in the bus working. It’s parked on the street in front of our house. I’ve got a window open so I can see Jace play outside, but he doesn’t see me.

I am such a lucky guy. Jace is awesome - almost as awesome as my little lady that is sitting on the grass next to him.

How to Make a Tabletop Biosphere

Jace and I had so much fun with our last project that we are going to make a true biosphere!  We are so excited!  ”Make” has all the instructions here.  Exhilarating!  We will post pics as soon as it’s finished!

Today We Built a Tabletop Ecosystem

OK, so before all you big-shot, environmentalist, know-it-alls have your say (you know who you are!), I know it isn’t an ecosystem in the true sense of the word because it is HARDLY self sustaining.  BUT it does have all the elements of one– plants, animals, dirt, air, water– so we will continue to ignorantly call our creation an ecosystem!

We got a big planter and then put dirt in it and in the center we put a deep clear dish for a lake and filled that with river rocks and then we planted petunias around the perimeter and put goldfish in the lake.  Hopefully in a month when the flowers have grown, they will have spread and covered the entire perimeter in dense flowers.  To top it off we put in a fake bird to keep those fish in line.  It is so pretty and was SO much fun to make!

The Proud New Father of TWINS!

This past week we went to PetSmart and let Jace pick a new pet.  He picked out two goldfish and he loves those things to death!  He named them Dori and Nemo and he watches and feeds them everyday and refers to them as, “My goldfish Nemo and Dori.” He is so precious!

Another cute thing he is doing: He is CONSTANTLY chattering and he says the same thing over and over and over.  He is never quiet, so I tune him out when I am trying to get something done.

So now, he will be chattering and asking for something over and over and over and I won’t hear him because I am concentrating, so he will climb up, get right up next to my ear, and in the quietest voice, will whisper whatever he was saying before.  I suddenly hear him every time.  He is such a problem solver!  It is SOOOO funny!

My dad sent this to me and holy toledo it is just incredible.  Never judge a book by its cover, eh?  Mindblowing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY

Jace’s Easters. They grow up so fast.
