My Little Control Freak

Jace has entered a new phase where he likes to discipline us.  If he doesn’t like something I have done, he will grab me by the hand and explain, “No, mommy.  Bad.  No more.  Go room.”  And he will lead me to his room, push me in there, close the door behind him and call through the door, “Come out when good girl.”  (You can come our when you decide to be a good girl.”

Other times when he gets bugged with something I have done, he will start counting like I do with him, “No more, mommy!  One, two free, nine, ten.  No more!”  He is SO funny!

Also, when I am reading books but he wants my attention, he will climb up next to me, then proclaim loudly, “De END!   Put book down, Mommy.”  What a little control freak!

How to make PERFECT rice in the microwave!

I was devastated when Jace threw my rice cooker over the balcony and broke it into pieces.  We ALWAYS eat rice, so that was one kitchen appliance I could not do without.  The next day I bought another one, and sure enough, by the end of the day Jace had thrown that one over the balcony, too.  I accepted that would be the fate of any rice cooker that was brought into our house, so I had to find a different method other than stovetop (that takes WAY too much time and energy!) and here it is.  It’s awesome. Spit it out, Mommy!

I had the hiccups this morning and when Jace heard me hiccuping, he came running over and frantically put his hand under my mouth and yelled, “Spit it out Mommy!  You choking!  Spit it out!”  Laughing, I told him I just had the hiccups and he yelled, “Spit out da hiccup, Mommy!  You choking!”  hahaha He takes such good care of me. :)

No one said insanely healthy couldn’t be ridiculously delicious.

Trevor and I have eliminated white flour, white sugar, and white rice from our diets.  I have been testing recipes trying to find yummy baked goods using only whole grain products and I must share the best of the best with you all.  It is AMAZING.  They have no fat, very little sugar (brown sugar) and use applesauce instead of any sort of butter.  They taste AMAZING and are incredibly healthy!

I bagged all the dry ingredients as a mix and stuck them in the freezer so I just have to pull out one of the baggies of the mix, throw in an egg, vanilla and applesauce, and then BAM– they’re done!  Try them– you’ll eliminate white flour from your diet, too!  Here’s the recipe. I reduce the sugar to 1/2 C, omit the butter and add about 1/3-1/2 C applesauce, omit the raisins and chop an apple into small chunks and mix it in.  They’re great!

Murder Mystery - Can you Solve It?

I am pretty much the uncontested all time champion of Clue.  I just innately know who did it, where, and with what lethal weapon.  It’s just in my blood.  So, Joshua (Trevor’s cousin who is a writer) wrote me this mystery to solve and I CAN NOT for the life of me figure it out.  If any of you can solve the mystery I would be much obliged.  I might rock at Clue, but unfortunately my powers of sleuth are limited to the game board. Here’s the mystery about an extremely dysfunctional family: Continue reading ‘Murder Mystery - Can you Solve It?’

More on my Potty Pro!

So about two weeks ago I posted about starting to potty train Jace.  Well, we potty trained for that day and it was AWESOME but then the next day we left for California so I just put him back in diapers because that would be AWFUL to have to stop every 15 minutes to let him go to the bathroom.  So, he had just one day of potty training and then we left.
