We got to Sitka, Alaska today! It is SO beautiful! Trevor and I had our second reception up here on a ship and then we spent Christmas here a month later, but those were both three years ago and I haven’t been back since! So this is SOOOO neat to be here since the last time I saw all these places was when I had just been married for a month! And I am staying at the Bed and Breakfast that we had our honeymoon suite in! SO WEIRD!!!
Anyway, Sitka is NOT what you guys all think of when you think of Alaska. Sitka is a small island in Southeast Alaska so it is a temperate forest and it has very mild weather– the ocean regulates the temperature and keeps it nice. Anyway, we start filming tomorrow and I am going to be the feature on one of the episodes and I am SOOOOO nervous!!!! She is going to interview me and I seriously can not think of ANYTHING remotely interesting to be interviewed about!! Kind of stressful! Trevor is in Provo and I miss him like CRAZY the only thing that would make this trip perfect would be if he were with me… so sad…
Oh yeah– oh the plane, as the flight attendants were giving everyone beverages, she went to give me my glass of cranberry juice and totally dropped it ALL OVER me and Mom Chapman. And as luck would have it, we were both wearing white dry clean only coats that got drenched in the bright red juice. Terrible. She said she has been a flight attendant for 10 years and that was the worst spill she has ever had– we just bring out the best in everyone, I guess. I was soaked for the remainder of the flight.
Trevor’s mom has a TV show in Alaska so she goes up there every other month or so to film a bunch of shows and she takes one of the kids each time. This time was Trevor’s turn but at the last second (i.e. 13 hours before the plane left) he found out he couldn’t make it, so we changed the ticket into my name!! So I get to go to Alaska for the week with Trevor’s mom and it is going to be SOOOOO fun! We just got to the airport and are waiting to board. We will be on an island in Alaska for the next week taping TV shows and just having fun! What an awesome surprise!!!!
I just made myself a piece of toast with butter and Jace asked me to make him one, too. So I made him one and went on my way. A minute later he found me and asked me fore more toast so I went in and made him another. A minute later he asked me for another– this is when I knew something was up. So after I handed him his third piece of buttered toast, I followed him to see what he was doing.
He went in a room, took that piece of toast, stuck it flat up against his face, and sucked all the butter out of it. Once it was nothing but a limp piece of soggy bread, devoid of all butter, he tossed it in the corner and went in search of me for another piece of toast. Perhaps I should just microwave a stick of butter and put it in his sippy cup and make him the happiest baby alive.

This past weekend was Bryan’s sweet 16 so we went down to Las Vegas to celebrate with him! Sierra and Ali threw a surprise party for him and it was super fun. Jace had a blast playing with all the teenagers and just fit right in. He’s so hilarious!
