Blog #129

Boy it has been a long time since we last updated!  I will try to remember all that has gone on.  Valentines was SO much fun!  We packed up and after I was done with classes on Thursday we hit the road for California.  We stopped in St. George to have dinner with my family (my mom made her famous fettuccini alfredo with chicken—YUM!)  We then continued on to Las Vegas to visit with Trevor’s family and drop Jace off so we could have a little trip in California by ourselves to revisit our old stomping grounds.  We got a hotel for four nights in Newport and had a great little vacation!
Our time away was super fun but as always it was really great to be back with Jace.  It’s amazing how much you can miss such tiny, mute, invalid!  A HUGE thanks to the Chapman’s for always being so willing to watch Jace for extended periods of time; you guys are the greatest!!!!!!  For Valentine’s Day I got Trevor a neck pillow ( like the kind for airplanes) because he has always been obsessed with those but never bought one for himself.  I also got him an 8 GB flash drive.  He was elated.  He is the cutest thing in the world!  He probably thanked me 25 times for those gifts that others would not be all that excited about.  The present Trevor got me was INCREDIBLE!!!
OK.  So, we were back in Provo and Trevor said he had to go wake Thor up.  So, he left and was gone a really long time.  I was thinking, “Geez!  How long does it take to wake Thor up? It’s 3 in the afternoon and he lives less than a minute away!”  But I didn’t  think anything was up.  Finally he came walking in the door but I was changing Jace’s diaper so I wasn’t really paying attention.  All of a sudden he said. “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!”  I looked in his hands and there, in all its glory, was a MACBOOK AIR!!!!!  I couldn’t even believe it.  I was speechless.  Holy cow, my MacBook Air is the most amazing thing in the universe.  I still can’t believe I have it.  I fully endorse it for all; it makes doing homework a luxury.
Last weekend Trevor and I were talking about how we are sick of Provo and want to move back to California.  We were at Wal-Mart and it was 1:00am.  We were talking and talking and then we were like, “Let’s go to California!”  So, we rushed home, packed up a bag, and started driving at 2:00 am.  I had a huge test on Monday so we could only stay for one day.  As we got into Las Vegas it was 6:00am and we decided to stop and play there for the day.  We got a hotel, took a nap, and then woke up and went to church.  After that we went to Mandalay Bay, Treasure Island, The Pilazzo, Ceasar’s Palace, and the Venetian.  It was SOOOOOOOOOOOO fun!!!!!  My favorite was the indoor canal in the Venetian; it was so beautiful!  We loved looking at the gigantic aquariums at Mandalay Bay and the Venetian and the Pilazzo was so awesome and I had never been to that one before.  After a superfun day in Vegas we took off at 9:00 to head back to Provo.  We got back at 7:00am.  I studied  for my test and then accidently fell asleep.  I had my test at 9:00am but I woke up at 10:00am and completely missed by test!!!!!  I jumped online and tried to find when that teacher taught the class again that day.  I found a section she taught at 1:00pm so I went to that class and took the test and all was well!  Phew!!!
It has been midterms these past two weeks so I have been really really busy.  Trevor is also swamped with recruiting guys, so we are constantly on the move.  Jace hates it when I do homework so I am only able to do it at 3 in the morning after he has finally fallen asleep.  For instance, yesterday I had a huge Beowulf paper due in my history class and I hadn’t even read the book.  I stayed up all night to read the book and write the paper and finally finished at 7:00am this morning.  Needless to say I am very excited to graduate.
Tomorrow is Davv’s court of honor so we are going to St. George right after I get out of classes.  We will stay there Thursday and then take off again for California for the weekend to play there with Jace.  We love California.
All right, now for a Jace update.  He is SOOOOO much fun!  I can’t believe how fast he is growing!  He is so much more developed than other babies much older than him.  We were at Barnes and Noble yesterday and he would walk up to other babies and try to give them toys and show them how to play with them and he would get them books and try to get them involved in the Barnes and Noble experience.  He did this to two different boys and each just stood there like they had no idea what was going on.  One was 20 months and the other was 22 months and Jace was WORLDS more advanced than them.
Jace loves to play in the sink now.  He will run over and grab my hand and lead me to the sink and beg me to put him on the countertop so he can play with the dishes and water.  Whenever I do the dishes he pulls a chair over and climbs up on it so he can help me and put the bubbles in his hair.  It is SOOO funny because we will be getting ready in the morning and when I put mouse in my hair, I will put some in his hand and he will rub it all over his head.  Then I will brush my hair and then hand it over to him and he will do the same.  It is so cute.  His new favorite word is “Oh-no!”  It is SOOOOOO cute because he has this adorable little voice and he will pour the chips all over the floor on accident and then look up at me in alarm, point to it, throw his head back and say, “Ohhhhh noooooo!”  With great despair.  It is too cute!  He also takes such good care of me.  When I was sick right before Valentines day Trevor made me a bed on the LuvSac so I went and laid down and pulled the covers over me.  Jace came running up, climbed up on the LuvSac next to me, snuggled up under the covers, put his hand on my head, and patted my head to make me feel better.  He would just look at me with great concern, put his chubby little face right up to mine and say, “Mom?  Mom?”  To make sure I was feeling OK.  He is so precious!
He also has developed an affinity for knives.  I keep all the knives locked up in the cupboard, but if ever I forget to lock it back up, the next thing I know Jace is running as fast as he can through the house with two stake knives in one hand and a bigger one in the other.  He is a psycho.
I will update more on Jace later, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!!!!!!  YOU ARE THE GREATEST MOM IN THE UNIVERSE!!!!!  WE LOVE YOU!!!!

Blog #128

UPDATE: We have just imported all of our posts from our old blogger account. So, if you visit the “Archives” you can go back clear to December of 2005. Wow.

Well, Lia is dying to know how our “juggling act” is going; I am sure all of you are just as interested but just not as vocal, so I will give an update!

It is SOOOOO great to be back in school! I LOVE school! I have 15 credits and am taking: English 315 (writing in the social sciences), History 201 (history up to 1500), Anth 346 (Anthropology of Mormonism), Anth 490R (Cultural Dimensions of International Business), and Rel 221 (Genealogy). I love ALL my classes except my Genealogy teacher bugs me to death; much too soft spoken. However, it was cool because I got my DNA tested in that class on Monday and now I have been added to the Human Genome Project. That’s cool, but now I can’t commit any grand crimes because they’ve already got my DNA. Bummer. I have class every day from 9-1 while Trevor and Jace bond and then they pick me up and I watch Jace while Trevor and his business partner, Thor, do business stuff.

Trevor is making his business amazing. I am SO impressed with his business prowess, organization, determination, and efficiency. Who knew he was such a powerful force to be reckoned with? Last weekend he took a three day recruiting trip to Colorado, this weekend he was in Idaho. Next weekend we are both going to California and then the weekend after that he is going to

Arizona. So yeah, Trevor is really busy.

Jace continues to grow and develop at exponential rates. He has a vocabulary of 15 words now and can say: No! Don’t! Stop! Bad! No-no! Cut! Blood! Electrocute! And other words along the same vein. He is always getting into something, and just the other day I went in to feed the turtle and saw one of our videos from our honeymoon in the depths of the fish tank.

Jace has become my little friend and we have so much fun doing things together. He loves to play with toys with me and will take my hand and guide me over to whatever he wants me to play with. He loves balls and kisses any stuffed animal he comes in contact with. He loves other babies and revels whenever he gets to play with one. He has become obsessed with shoes and demands that he always be wearing some. He will be stark bare but still have shoes on. He will also bring us our shoes so we will go outside with him (kind of like a puppy with his leash). Jaces loves to help me do dishes and demands that I bring the chair over so he can stand on it and help me. He also loves to bask in the sink as I get ready in the morning. He will just lay back in the vanity sink, with a makeup brush in each hand, and brush his face with them in imitation of me.

He is so much fun and SOOOOOO smart! He just woke up so I need to get him but there is a brief update!
