Hello to all our faithful blog viewers! We apologize for the delay in updating—so much has been happening! I will try to give a brief update of the past two weeks and get you all up to par on what’s been going on.
The last week of school was SO chaotic; Trevor literally had a nervous breakdown. He saved all his finals so he had to complete them all in two days, and then he had TONS of work stuff and our entire apartment to pack and move. We both got together and got all his papers and finals done. While he was taking his last three finals on April 25th I was packing like crazy. He came home and started packing all the boxes onto a U-Haul. That U-Haul made our moving experience 1000% easier than it usually is. We are usually trying to strategically loop and tie boxes onto ever other square foot of our car. This time we just threw it all in the U-Haul which was REALY nice. If not for the U-Haul Trevor might have been admitted to a mental asylum.
We thought everything was going to be really quick so we weren’t too stressed until it started taking forever and ever. Things are a lot harder when you have a baby to take care of. We finally got everything packed up after packing throughout the night and once again left for California without any sleep for the previous 48 hours. Once we were on the road, however, life was GREAT! This was the first time EVER that I have been able to put my feet down on a move! I am usually surrounded by fish tanks, pictures, lamp shades—anything that won’t fit in a box I usually am forced to squish around me. This time there wasn’t a piece of packed grear in site! Another plus was the air conditioning! In the Rodeo was have to open the windows and spray ourselves with cold water to keep from passing out as we pass through death valley. This time we nearly froze to death with our incredible air conditioning. And FINALLY, the best thing of ALL was the fact that we didn’t break down ONCE! The Rodeo can not take those steep hills on the way to CA. It is always heaving and gasping especially with our 1,000 lbs of packed extra weight strapped to the top of it. The Jeep was awesome and towed that U-Haul like it was nothin’! The move couldn’t have been better!
We thought we would be able to drive all the way through, but Trevor is getting a little bit old. He had to pull over in Gene, Nevada at 10:00 at night after not sleeping for two days. We planned on just sleeping for 2 hours and then getting back on the road, but sleep was too tempting and we overslept not taking off again until 3 am. That rest was a lifesaver, though, because Trevor probably would have fallen asleep while driving.
We finally rolled into Valencia sometime in the morning and we were SO happy—the apartments are SUPER nice! Super super super nice! We have three pools. They are all really pretty, but one is Olympic sized and heated! Our fitness center is HUGE and has every workout machine you could ask for. Our apartment is fully furnished with really nice furniture and have everything we need even down to bake ware! We also have a really great location because we are right next to Costco! Hooray!
I unpacked and Trevor got right to work getting everything done at the office. All his guys started arriving the next couple of days. He had 23 guys he is managing and they are doing great! Trevor is such a powerhouse! The big boss who is over the ENTIRE sales program for Orkin for all of America flew in to meet Trevor because he had heard so much about him. Now Louie loves him and is making plans to fly Trevor all over the place so he can teach the sales managers all over how to manage like him. Trevor is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
So after we settled in, Brooke and Sierra came to visit! Trevor picked them up at LAX on the 30th. Brooke stayed with us a couple days and then we dropped her off in Venture where she is selling this summer. Sierra, Jace and I have been having a great time! On Wednesday we watched almost the entire season of Project Runway and then were so inspired that we went off to the fabric store to make our own fashion creations! We both made absolutely adorable skirts. Sierra is quite the fashionista! The next day we watched this wedding cake competition so then we had to have wedding cake day! We made four layer cakes and had a cake decorating contest. They both turned out super cute! I did a white base with pink roses and daisies. Sierra did a green cake with blue and green swirls and stripes. We decided we tied because they were both so cute!
Sierra is SO cute because she came all the way to Valencia California, right outside of LA, one of the biggest entertainment cities in the world, and the two places she wanted to go to more than anything was IHop and Golden Corral. She is so cute! Well, when they are that easy to please, you gotta deliver, so we went to IHop on Thursday and it was great! Sierra got this monster avacodo omlet and I got stuffed French toast. The on Saturday Trevor didn’t have to work so we went to Six Flags! It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fun! The new roller coaster, Tatsu, was AWESOME! It wasn’t there the last time I went to Six Flags and it felt like you were flying. It was SO cool! However, Goliath remains my favorite with its sheer drops that make you pass out from fear. Sierra was scared out of her mind, but we told her that if she didn’t go on every ride she couldn’t kiss Jace ever again, so she went on every one and LOVED it!
On Sunday we went to church and then went to Hollywood. It was way fun! This artist stooped us and asked if he could draw us for $10. He did a great job! He was this cute little guy from Bulgaria. Sierra had a great time seeing the walk of stars and the Chinese Theatre with all the handprints outside. We got a picture of Jace by Harrison Ford because Indian Jones is one of Trevor’s heroes.
