We just returned from the midwivery clinic — Here are the results:
Caci is dilated to a three (3)!!
75% effaced, soft, anterior, and the baby is at -1
Good Results! She also had her membranes stripped…so, we are hoping either tonight or tomorrow night!
I know you are all anxiously awaiting the post that says that we had a baby, but unfortunately this post is not the one. We went in for a doctor’s appointment last Tuesday and they said I will probably deliver a few days early, so that is fantastic! It can happen any day now! Trevor and I have been going to the indoor track and walking like maniacs to get the show on the road.
This past weekend was homecoming so we went to the “Homecoming Spectacular” which was a showcase of BYU’s finest dancers, singers, and musicians. It was GREAT! The Folk Dance team performed, the Young Ambassadors, the Modern Dance Team, the Jazz Band—all kinds of groups. It was very very good. Sherrie Dew was the MC and that was also a lot of fun.
The next day we went to homecoming. That was quite the treat! Trevor really wanted to go, but I (being 5 days away from my due date and ready to pop at any moment) didn’t really want to go. So he kept asking me and I kept telling him that there were no pregnancy prom dresses in Utah and I didn’t want to go. It was all, however, a plot so he wouldn’t know what was happening.
On his birthday I bought a really beautiful cake (he would have seen me making one) and gave it to Kinsi to give to her teacher (the class that she and Trevor have together). So, apparently, Trevor walked in late to this class with 180 people in it, and the teacher said, “Trevor—will you please come down here? It looks like someone is asking you to homecoming!” So Trevor had to go in front of the whole class amid the hoots and hollers and accept this cake that said, “It would ice my cake if you would be my homecoming date! Find my name and number in the cake.” He immediately “knew” it was me and was telling everyone that it was me. Well, after class he called me up and said, “Yes!” But I acted like I had no idea what he was talking about. He continued saying yes, convinced it was me. I continued to deny it and countered that it was some freshman girl in his class that had a crush on him and didn’t know he was married. I guess I was pretty convincing because after about an hour of denying it, Trevor began to think it really was some girl in his class and then started feeling really bad (but flattered) that he was going to have to tell her no. He said that he was going to say, “I am so flattered that you would ask me, but it was just really bad timing—I mean, my wife is due this week, and she could go into labor at any time. I mean, if you had asked me one week later, everything would have been fine. But me dancing the night away while my wife is in labor doesn’t really jive too well with my wife.” It was really funny. So, he felt really bad that he was going to have to destroy this little girl. We got home from his birthday lunch and we decided to cut into the cake to find the girl’s name. Well, low and behold, Trevor found the name and number—and it was indeed me. It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO funny!!!! Too funny for words!!!!!
We went to the Saturday night black and white formal dance. It was really fun. I made my own dress. It was black satin with layers and layers of black tulle so that my belly looked like an accessory! I wish we could post pictures on here because they are really cute. Trevor got to wear his three piece suit and stole the show. We go in for a doctor’s appointment tomorrow morning—everyone pray that he comes soon! We are so excited!
