Hey everyone. It has recently come to my attention that mom has been blogging like a mad woman but no one is recognizing her efforts by going to her blog. So, I would encourage you all to go there and comment so she doesn’t feel her efforts are in vain. The link is on our website, but you can also click it: thesuttnerfamily.blogspot.com.

Well! We just realized that we haven’t Blogged about a big event that happened last week—Lia’s shower! Who knew throwing a shower could be such a HUGE ordeal?! I had been wo
rking with Justin trying to get a guest list together and to schedule a time that would work for Lia. Well, he said that Saturday at 4:00 would be great, so Jini made up the invites, ran them around to all the houses, and we thought we were in business—up until 3 days before the shower, that is. Everyone started RSVPing me saying they had another shower at the exact time that they already committed to. 99% of those invited were in Lia’s ward, and the other shower was fo
r a girl in their ward. Thus, not one person would be able to come. SO, I contacted Justin again and he said that Thursday at 7 would be the best. So I took 2 hours to make the cutest invitations to coerce people into coming, and ran them around to all the houses, explaining the dilemma. Trevor and I got home happy that everything was solved. Then, the next day, I started getting the RSVP’s… Lia was hosting a Book Club meeting at her house 7:00 Thursday—right during the shower. Well, I was exasperated and did not want to make up yet ANOTHER invitation and run them around yet AGAIN. Thank goodness the Relief Society president couldn’t take the chaos anymore and called me up, “We will have it Wednesday at 7 in the Multipurpose Building. I will call the Bishop and reserve the room and call all the girls and let them know of the change.” Phew! Thank goodness for Obsessive Compulsive Relief Society Presidents! So, despite all of Justin’s devious plans
to thwart our efforts, the shower prevailed!!! After the horror of the invites, everything turned out to be really good! We had excellent food—gourmet turkey wraps, chocolate dipped strawberries, chips and dip, chocolate galore, cheesecake etc. And we played a lot of fun games. It was so funny! We had the “Pregnancy Olympics” to find out who was the “Best Pregnant Woman of them All”. We had a series of games including “Taste the Baby Food” where they had to guess the flavor of 7 different unique baby f
oods including sweet potato, lasagna, spinach supreme, turkey and vegetable, macaroni and chicken, vanilla custard, and fruit puree. If nothing else, it exposed them to the horror their babies have to go though as they choke down pureed turkey and vegetables. Next we had Pregnant Twister where we strapped the woman up with pillows and laughed as they tried to outdo each other in a rousing game of Twister. One girl “gave birth” during the game (her pillow fell out), securing her way to victory. Next we played, “Lia’s Perfect Baby” where
the girls had to decide what features of Lia or Justin Lia wanted the baby to receive. I will include Lia’s “Perfect Baby” at the end. Let’s see how close it comes to what she wants! In the end we played “Pregnant Bag Game” where the girls were once again pregnant with pillows strapped to their bellies and had to pick up the bag with their teeth while standing on one leg. Lia showed them all up and played with the real thing and WON! Everyone was amazed by her dexterity in spite of her belly! The shower turned out to be a huge success, and we all had a great time.

Today was a great day! We started off by wishing Lia a Happy Birthday! Caci had a great time shopping for a little jacket for her to be worn after the birth of their little mystery. We took a mini road trip up to West Jordan to visit Grandma and Grandpa - and to tell them the news: That we are PREGNANT! We had a great time with them and it was fun to go out to eat at the Golden Corral.
After returning home Caci and I headed out to Acoustic Explosion where we heard a few great songs. After feeding our musical sides we decided to feed our faces and ate some great sherbet at the Creamery on 9th. That is my update.
We have had quite the time these past couple of days! We left for St. George on Saturday night to play with my family in California. We arrived at 4:30am in St. George and found my dad busily blogging away in his office. We stayed up and talked to him about all his clever blogging comments until about 6:30am. So, we were exhausted when all the little kids came running around chipper and excited for church just 2 hours later. When they came back from church, we all piled in the car and drove out to Anaheim California! We got there about 10:00 that night in caravan with Dan and Shelley’s family, and the Gooches. Trevor and I had our own room up until the Gooches decided to go, so we were pleasured to share a room with all the little Suttner boys and Justin Gooch. Boys are gross and I hope I never have to share a room with them again—it was like being at Scout Camp without supervision. Th
e room was filled with gas, matches, stinky feet, and snoring. I begged my parents to switch us with the girls, but they knew what was in for them, and stubbornly refused.
The next day we all went to Knott’s Berry Farm. It was SOOOOO much FUN!!!! We went on all kinds of scary roller coasters and crazy rides. It was AWESOME! Trevor and I were feeling really sick, so Shelley suggested we go on one of her favorite rides to give ourselves a break. We thought a 46 year old woman would have a fairly accurate idea of what “mild” was, but we were grossly mistaken. Shelley took us on this ride that spins you around super fast while flipping you up and down really fast. By the time the ride ended I was holding back my lunch. Trevor was positively ill, as well.
After taking Boe on the log ride and through the kiddy park one more time, we all went back to the hotel, jumped in our swimsuits, and swam for awhile, then had a pizza party around the pool while the parents went out to dinner. Then we went back up to our rooms and watched a movie about a woman who only has half a body—it was really inspirational.
The next day we went to Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum. It was so cool! I always love going to
those museums. I thought the most interesting exhibit was the woman who carried her husband’s (Sir Walter Raleigh) head around on a platter everywhere she went because she loved him so much until her death 17 years later. Very interesting. Afterwards we went to Huntington Beach. The water was too cold to swim in, so we had huge games of sand football, sand soccer, and various seaweed Olympic events. Trevor never failed to impress me and was the star of every event. What an athlete!
I had an AWESOME experience there! There are always seagulls flying all over the place, so I got the crackers we brought and started feeding them. Well, pretty soon they were circling above my head, and I could just toss the crackers into their mouths. IT
WAS AWESOME! They were flying only 3 or 4 feet above my head—a whole flock of them. It was SOOO cool—something off of a movie. That is something I will never forget.
We took off soon after and headed back for St. George. We stopped off in Barstow at the famous Barstow Station to have ice cream. As always, it was a great experience and delicious ice cream.
We arrived in St. George exhausted at 11:30pm. Trevor and I
hung out for about half an hour then hit the road for Provo to meet our Wednesday classes. The little vacation was SO much fun and a welcome break from the stressful days of school.
Today Trevor and I had a great surprise today. I hadn’t checked my phone messages for a while so I finally checked them and there were three from the UPS guy saying he has been trying to deliver a big huge T.V. since Monday and I should call and schedule with him when I will be home to sign for it. An hour later Trevor was home from class, so I told him, and he pulled us into the car and we raced up to Salt Lake to pick it up from UPS headquarters—THAT is how excited Trevor was to get it. So, WE GOT IT!!!! IT IS AWESOME!! It is SO big and beautiful and the picture is amazing! Trevor is reveling in the splendor of it all right now, watching Band of Brothers. It is AWESOME! We can’t find the camera but we want to post pictures of the Cali trip and also of the T.V. We will keep looking. The T.V. is AWESOME!!!!!!

Well! It seems that Trevor and I have dropped the ball a little this past week. We have been doing things, we just haven’t been updating. So I will go through our camera and try to remember what we have done through our picture record. First off, we went to the batting cages. Actually, I think I wrote about that already. Well, here are pictures of it.
A couple days later we decided to celebrate our Pioneer Heritage by making candy from the time period. We made “Electric Blue” and “Screaming Purple” salt water taffy. It was a lot of fun! Trevor was a natural! After convincing him th
at it was a proper activity for a boy to be doing, he actually did a really good job. In fact he got so excited that our downstairs neighbor came up and yelled about how noisy he was being. Our downstairs neighbor is kind of a jerk.
Yesterday we had a fun time with Lia, Justin, Julia, and Jini (look at all those J’s!). They all came over to have a pizza movie night with us. We watched the original “Planet of the Apes”. Trevor has been raving about this movie for a long time so we finally broke down and got it. He said I would really really enjoy it because it is an anthropological film that gives much insight into the evolution of species and cultures. It proved to be that and so much more! We really should have taken more pictures when everyone was over, but we were all just so enthralled with the movie (all, that is, except Lia who kept muttering under her breath “I think Julia needs to go to bed
…” although Julia was laying peaceful and content on the LuvSac). It was really fun! I think Justin enjoyed the movie more than everyone else. He found it positively stimulating. Here is a picture of him absolutley glued to every word uttered by Charleston Hesston.
Another exciting thing that happened– Trevor’s book came! He has been wanting the Complete Works of William Shakespeare and I finally found one that we would deem acceptable. It could not be any old copy of the Complete Works of William Shakespeare. It has to be th
e leather bound, gold plated, super expensive edition. He loves it. Had he gotten me one, it would have to be the paperback edition from the thrift store, or else I would not accept it. So interesting how opposites attract!
Isn’t Caci so CUTE!
It’s finalized!!! We got our shipping confirmation for our 42″ FREE PLASMA T.V. TODAY!!!!! Here is the confirmation e-mail thing. WE ARE SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!! It will arrive in about a month. I was always a skeptic, but when our friends got their’s, we realized that this was really possible. WE ARE SO EXCITED!!! HOORAY!!!!!! We will have it in about 4 weeks. AWESOME!!
Last week was jam packed with tests, essays, term papers, and classes. It was a WELCOME break when the weekend finally rolled around. We decided to celebrate by going up to West Jordan to visit Grandma and Grandpa Chapman. However, as we neared the freeway, Trevor made the executive decision that it probably was not the best idea to take our car on such a strenuous trip since the breaks are almost completely shot and going from 75 MPH to 0 in 10 seconds probably wouldn’t work at the present moment. However, we were already on the freeway at this point, so we pulled off at the first exit and went to Trafalga. We went to the batting cages and it was SO MUCH FUN! I have never done that before. Trevor whacked them clear to the other side of the field. We then went to Doc’s Pizza buffet where I tried desperately to coerce Trevor into taking a turn at the Karaoke to pronounce his undying love for me to all the fellow Doc’s Buffet onlookers. However, after about an hour of pleading, he still had not softened up. So, I decided to just sing him one. I picked one out and went up to sing, but he grabbed me and begged me not to sing. It turns out that he did not want to call attention to himself because he “didn’t feel handsome” that day. So, he promised me that we would go back to Doc’s next Friday and he would dress up real nice and look his best then sing me a song. Afterward we rented “Band of Brothers”. I fell asleep immediately, but Trevor really enjoyed it. He recommends it to all. We have been trying to finalize where we are going to live this summer. We thought we were living in Santa Maria, but it turns out I won’t have a job in the office, so we are trying for Ventura. That sounds way better to me anyway. The office has no spots available, but I am going to write a persuasive letter to the branch manager telling him why it is in his best interest to hire me (I think the paragraph about retaining his fully functional knees will get his attention). We will update you on how that turns out. I REALLY want to get a job in the office. Everyone pray really hard! Today we bought something really really exciting but Trevor won’t let me tell what because he is embarrassed. Davy, you will probably be jealous.
