March of the Penguins and Dessert

This weekend was so much fun! On Friday Trevor and I went to the Varsity Theater at BYU to see “March of the Penguins”. It was SO sweet! It is a documentary about how penguins march 70 miles to their birthplace to find a mate and raise a baby penguin and the hardships and struggles they go through for this little baby. It was SO sweet and Trevor cried a lot because he was touched.

We brought our huge sleeping bag and a large pizza. We got there early and laid down all our stuff in the front. We were just laying there talking, waiting for the movie to begin. Well, when the movie started, we looked back and the theater was FULL! It was so funny! We were just laying in the aisle with our pizza and huge pillow and sleeping bag ready to enjoy the movie and everyone had to step around us! It was a GREAT movie. The next day we went shopping for some cute winter shoes, and then went to the French Bakery. It reminded us of Europe—it was really cute. We got a HUGE slice of Chocolate Walnut Cake and then sat in the little bakery eating it. It was fun.

Then we went to “Laugh Out Load” this impromptu BYU comedy group. It was SO funny!!! We really liked Kenny, the tall kid, and the chubby kid. They were HILARIOUS!!!! We felt really bad for the girl because she wasn’t funny. Wouldn’t it be the worst thing in the world to be in a comedy group and not be funny? I can think of no greater humiliation. Anyway, after that we went to Macy’s and Trevor and I each had 10 minutes and $3 to buy our items. I was to buy ingredients to make dinner and Trevor was to buy ingredients to make dessert. It was so fun! We kept accidentally running into each other so we would have to scurry away without the other seeing what we had. We met at the front, still not looking at each other’s stuff, and I paid for my stuff then went to the car. Trevor came out after that. We got to the house and we made our stuff. I got one of those Pasta Sides packets—the Spinach and Cream Noodle one and bread bowls—my stuff only cost $2.34. Trevor then made his dessert. I had to sit and watch TV until it was done. I heard a bunch of clanking and grinding and whirling—I was really excited and curious to see what he would make! Well, finally he came forward bearing dessert. It was the sweetest thing I have ever seen in my life. He had made milkshakes out of various ice creams, gummy bears, sixlets, and M&M’s. This was to serve as a dip. He then had a box of my favorite cookies—those “Grandma’s” Sugar cookies with the pink frosting, cut up apples, and “Magic Shell” to go on top of everything. He is SOOOOOOOOOO cute!! A word on the apples: I think this is the first time Trevor has ever cut apples. They were cut in all kinds of big chunks, with all of the stem and core still in it. He didn’t know you are supposed to cut out the core. It was really cute. He was so excited to make it, and spent so much time formulating the perfect recipe. It turned out really cool! It was quite the taste sensation. He was so cute! However, I soon found that he BROKE the rules and spent $9.00. Very typical of our marriage—me going under budget, him going over. In the end we balance eachother. J It all works! I just thought that dessert was the sweetest thing in the world. Trevor is the most incredible boy in the universe. I love him SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!!

First Week Over

Phew! The first week of school is OVER! It is really odd to be back in school after playing for 6 months. We survived—barely. As soon as we got home from class on Friday, we walked into the apartment, laid on the couch, and were practically unconscious until 10:00 pm when we woke up. That week was treacherous! So, to celebrate surviving our first week of school, we went out and got a big fattening bacon pizza (we’ve been trying to eat healthy) and just vegged in front of the T.V. Boy was it great! College life once again!

We finally were able to go to our ward on Sunday—8:30 in the morning. Its killer to get up that early, but we have the rest of the day to just relax. Our ward seems like a lot of fun with all the newly married couples, and the little babies running all over the place. So much fun! We went over to Lia and Justin’s for dinner and games. It was a lot of fun, and Julie is as cute as ever, getting into everything. Lia is due in 2 ½ months for her second baby. Cute! Chari called to tell a joke. Apparently it is the funniest thing in the world:

  1. How to you make a holy chicken?
  1. Burn the heck out of it.

Trevor thought it was hilarious! Trevor has a cute little movie of himself that his buddy sent just now and I think it’s really cute and typical of Trevor—a grown up little kid. Here is also a picture of Trevor when he, Brian, and Dad hiked to Medeveeje Lake when we were in Alaska for Christmas.

So cute! And as always, Trevor is so so so so so wonderful and I am the luckiest girl in the entire world to have him as my companion FOREVER. He is SOOOOOO wonderful.

Oh, on Friday we saw the new movie Tristan and Isalde. I was VERY much against it because I am 100% against the movie industry for charging such high prices for movie tickets. I always wait until it is in the dollar theater before going. So I was very much against going, but when it ended I was SO happy we went because it was THAT good. It was so sweet. Trevor and I got in our pajamas, bought a bunch of candy, brought a blanket, and snuggled up in the theater as if it were a slumber party. It was fun although people looked at us funny when we walked in with our big blanket and store of treats. Everyone should go see Tristan and Isalde. It is beautiful.

Cinnamon Rolls from Outa Space!

Today was a wonderful sunday highlited with both Church and a small family activity - baking cinnamon rolls and taking them to some family. We brought some to Rachel, Jini, and the Collings. The roles were actually orange/coconut roles that Caci made. They were delicious!
I have never tasted such delicous rolls. That reminds me! For dinner we ate lasagna that Caci came up with as she had no recipe. Mom…sorry - but this was the best lasagna that I have ever had. It was absolutely amazing! My tastebuds tingle and salivate right now just thinking about it. Here is a picture of my salivating tastebuds…joke!
Yesterday we bought a bookshelf at Wal-Mart for an amazing $30. Put it together and walla! Here it is:
In short, I am loving married life. Especially here, with just me and Caci. I feel it more and more everyday. What an amazing girl. How did I get so lucky? Caci really wanted this picture that she took of the cinnamon roles on here. So with this picture - bye.

Our fourth First apartment!

After nearly five months of marriage we have a house of our own!!

Quick explanation:
First 1 & 1/2 month - Honeymoon in Europe and Alaska.
Next two months - St. George working; company housing (Caci’s Parents house).
Last two weeks - Alaska for Christmas at my parents house.

So, finally its just us! Its great. So many miracles have occured and Caci will probably want to write about that. I’ll put on the pictures.
This, of course, is my HOTT wife talking on the phone on day 2 of sleeping on the floor in our new apartment. The first night we slept in our “room.” The velvet blankets we slept on distinigrated beneath us as we slept. They were a wedding gift from Caci’s grandma. I guess that they were hers. Caci was pretty sad that they got ruined. Thankfully we have more blankets.

The apartment is not furnished so we are in the proccess of furnishing it. Until then though - meals on cardboard and measuring spoons for utensils to eat. However, today we finally bought a bed! A double-pillow top with box spring base, etc…
Finally a good nights rest!

Our first furnishing was the shower curtain and boy did Cac love it!

We started to install bit by bit what we had until finally… wa-la!

A picture of a finished side of our front room with me typing this blog! Its gorgeous isnt it?

“Bloom where you’re planted…” - President Hinckley.

I love it and I think that we are doing a great job of making it nice and cozy. Instead of sticking with the nasty blinds, we’ve got a beautiful set of curtains. From the outside you see blinds blinds blinds CURTAINS blinds blinds blinds.

We also have a finished bathroom. That actually was the first finished room and it looks and smells great! I’ll put the pictures up once Caci edits them all together to be one.

Until then… our new bed!

With lots of storage space!!

We also have a wonder-fully stocked kitchen with a beautifully decorated kitchen table area.

To get an idea of the actual kitchen layout, reverse these pictures so that the one on the left is on the right and visa-versa. We love our home!

By the way, the picture at the top with Caci holding the celery was taken in Rome.

Here is a basic idea of what our bathroom looks like. It looks goofy but atleast you get an idea of the flow.
