Lately I have been LOVING fabric flower accessories. I usually just get mine from Forever 21 because they are cheap and cute, but I have been seeing soooo many cute ones and Forever 21 just isn’t currently delivering so I went on a quest to figure out how to make my own. Well, I was at my friend’s house today and low and behold, sitting next to her couch was an entire crate (yes, a CRATE) FULL of fabric flowers that she makes! They are soooo cute! And she says they each take about 5-10 minutes! So then I was resolved to find some cute flower tutorials so I can have crates around my house just filled for the picking!
I found these tutorials and I think with the right fabrics they would just be fabulous. This is my favorite and this is my other favorite and this is my final favorite. I love it when they have satin overlaid with netting. Holy cow, once I have a little girl that kid is just going to be plastered with flowers and roses head to toe.
I had to send some documents in to BYU but we don’t have a fax machine so I was going nuts! Then I found this website that lets you send free faxes! You can send two faxes per day, three pages each (if you want to send more than that it is $1.99 for up to 15 pages)! It is perfect for infrequent faxers. You just send it as if it were an e-mail. Check it out here!
And no post would be complete without a picture of my handsome little man.

I just found this super cool site that lets you unmask blocked calls for free– now you can find out who is pranking you all the time or see who those telemarketers are. It’s great! It’s called www.trapcall.com check it out!
Another cool thing I found is www.legistalker.com. Lifehacker gives this summary, “Consider yourself a conscientious voter? Legistalker makes it easy to keep an eye on the officials you voted in and see if you voted for hope, change, or a solid dose of the status quo.
Legistalker combs a variety of news, social networking, and government sites to pool information about members of the U.S. Congress. Searching for a Senator or Representative will return mentions of that individual in the media, Twitter updates, YouTube videos, Capitol Words—a nifty weighted cloud of the words they’ve used in interviews and floor speeches—and their voting record which includes what they’ve introduced and votes yes or no on.
If you’re tracking multiple people, say all the Senators and Representatives from your state, you can add them to your Watch List and from there in you’ll be able to keep an eye on all the updates from all the people on your Watch List in one location. Currently you need to visit the site itself to access your Watch List, hopefully a future feature will be a personalized RSS feed. Legistalker is free and requires no signup.”
It is VERY cool. Check that out, too!
After years of practice, I have discovered the most efficient way to save money on hotel rooms and I would like to impart my knowledge onto the masses. I just got us a hotel for the weekend in Las Vegas for $16 per night– that’s right! $16!
This is how I do it– first go to hotwire.com and search there. I LOVE hotwire.com because they are deeply discounted since you don’t get to see what hotel you are staying at until you confirm the purchase– you just choose the star level, they tell you what hotels fall in that range, you purchase the room, and you generally get a killer deal (we stayed at the Hilton in Huntington Beach for $40 per night when it is usually $350 per night. Yeah. Crazy.)
After I check hotwire.com, I check hotelscombined.com. They search all the OTHER booking sites and tell you where you can book it the cheapest– love it. Then I get the cheaper of the two but before I buy it, I search google for a promo code for that specific website (so if I get it from hotwire, I google “hotwire promo code” before I make the final selection). We stayed at Newport beach for 4 days and our hotel was only $37 per night because I found this really great promo code that took $300 off.
Another cool tip is travelocity.com– they have flexible travel days so you can see the hotel rate for each day of the week so you can book it at its cheapest if you don’t really care when you go, but you want to stay in an awesome resort or hotel.
Anyway, if you are looking to book a hotel, try those tips! More money to spend on SHOES and MAKEUP! If any of you have better hotel tips, let me know! We seriously book at least 45 hotel rooms per year and that really adds up!
Today I was out in the driveway cleaning out the car and this guy kept driving around the block over and over and over. He was a really scary looking guy in an old beat up car. He slowly circled the neighborhood at least 15 times. I glared at him each time he came around letting him know I saw his face. I was about ready to call the cops.
I told my mom in law when she got home and we found this website that tells all the registered sex offenders in the neighborhood. It is familywatchdog.us . I am totally going to check this site whenever I move to a new place– you might want to use it, too. Better to be safe than sorry.

Every year I look forward to the Allure Readers’ Choice Awards where all Allure Magazine readers vote on their favorite beauty products. The reason it is especially cool is because it has a a winner for both drugstore and department store products in each category– so you can either go cheap or pricy. I am sure you were all counting down the days, too! Check it out here.
You may call me a pawn of the market, but I can honestly say they have never steered me wrong! I can’t wait to go out tomorrow and stock up!
