When my mom was Relief Society President they had a lot of deaths in her ward and she read this in a book then arranged it as it is here. She had me design this for her so she could give it to the loved ones of the deceased (printed as a 5X7 photograph). I think it is just beautiful and makes death so much more able to bear. Did you all look in your December Ensigns in the inside back cover?! It’s ME! Lonni Clarke is such a fantastically talented artist– it looks like a photograph! Anyway, SO EXCITING! Take a look in your Ensign if you haven’t yet! I am available to do signings every day at noon for a small (or not so small) fee. It’s the least I can do!
Lately I have been LOVING fabric flower accessories. I usually just get mine from Forever 21 because they are cheap and cute, but I have been seeing soooo many cute ones and Forever 21 just isn’t currently delivering so I went on a quest to figure out how to make my own. Well, I was at my friend’s house today and low and behold, sitting next to her couch was an entire crate (yes, a CRATE) FULL of fabric flowers that she makes! They are soooo cute! And she says they each take about 5-10 minutes! So then I was resolved to find some cute flower tutorials so I can have crates around my house just filled for the picking!
I found these tutorials and I think with the right fabrics they would just be fabulous. This is my favorite and this is my other favorite and this is my final favorite. I love it when they have satin overlaid with netting. Holy cow, once I have a little girl that kid is just going to be plastered with flowers and roses head to toe.
Remember Lonni Clarke’s painting of Mary and the donkey that I was the model for? Well, she just got the call from the Church– it has been chosen to be on the inside back cover of the December Ensign and Liahona! Isn’t that SOOOOOOO cool?! I am so excited!!!
Every year I look forward to the Allure Readers’ Choice Awards where all Allure Magazine readers vote on their favorite beauty products. The reason it is especially cool is because it has a a winner for both drugstore and department store products in each category– so you can either go cheap or pricy. I am sure you were all counting down the days, too! Check it out here.
You may call me a pawn of the market, but I can honestly say they have never steered me wrong! I can’t wait to go out tomorrow and stock up!
This is the painting of me as Mary from start to finish. It is amazing to see it metamorphosize from a blank canvas into such a beautiful work of art. She is so talented!
Jace and I had so much fun with our last project that we are going to make a true biosphere! We are so excited! ”Make” has all the instructions here. Exhilarating! We will post pics as soon as it’s finished!
